KRISTI ADAMS

Associate at Bishop Koch Lawyers

Born and raised in Calgary, Kristi’s career was focused on working in the justice system early on. She attended Mount Royal University’s Justice Studies program with her sights set on a career in corrections and policing. After taking some time to volunteer across Canada, she completed her degree in Justice Studies in 2009. She worked in the court system and for the Crown’s office for several years after that, eventually deciding to pursue a career in law. In 2011, she was admitted to the University of Calgary’s law program, graduating with her law degree in 2014.

After spending most of her life in Calgary, she was excited to branch out and complete her articling in a new community. This led her to Lethbridge, where she articled at a local firm before being called to the Bar in 2015. During this time, she also met her fiancé. For several years, she worked at the Crown Prosecutor’s office in Lethbridge, and in 2023 she and her fiancé decided to move their family to Medicine Hat.

Although Kristi was looking to work in private practice, her introduction to Bishop Koch happened by chance. A friend of Kristi’s knew Sarah Koch and that the firm was looking for another lawyer. During their initial meeting, Kristi, Sarah, and Pat connected, and in April of 2023, Kristi officially joined Bishop Koch Lawyers.

Kristi prioritizes building trust to help people through potentially difficult or stressful times. Whether by helping navigate the complexities of a contract or guiding succession planning, she always works to ensure clients feel comfortable and informed.

Kristi’s main areas of practice include:
  • Real Estate Transactions
  • Wills & Estates
  • Estate Planning & Administration
  • Corporate Law
  • Municipal Law

Although she is new to Medicine Hat, she’s quickly built connections within the community. She loves to volunteer and is actively involved in her son’s activities. Plus, despite growing up in a big city, she’s enjoyed deepening her connection to the agriculture and ranching communities, especially since her family has farmed across Alberta and Saskatchewan. When she isn’t at her desk, you can usually find her playing sports, camping, or spending time with her family and two dogs.
